Leah Hampson is very grateful to be a 2021 Kimberly A. Nelson Foundation Scholarship recipient. Finding herself in the company of the many talented students who have been honored by the Foundation, she
...considers this recognition the culmination of her time at BRHS.
Spending her high school years in the choir and theatre programs allowed Leah to learn about different elements of artistry, along with acquire life lessons that she will carry with her always. Leah was a member of Mixed Choir, Select Women’s Choir, and Symphonic Choir, and was cast in plays and musicals each year. Her favorite production she participated in was Cinderella, in which she played The Queen— she felt especially grateful to have had such an amazing show with everyone before losing time to Covid. She was also a member of the Thespian Honor Society, and loved participating in the NJ Thespian Festival. Outside of school, Leah attended acting classes in New York City and worked with a private vocal coaching team.
Leah would like to thank Dr. Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. Gunning for championing the BRHS performing arts community. Their passion and creativity for the craft has inspired so many memorable performances!.
Leah is thrilled to expand on all that she learned at NYU Tisch, majoring in Drama. She is so honored to have been selected to uphold Kim’s legacy, and will continue devoting her life to the arts.
